Fund established for grandchild of Ed Chermak

A benefit fund has been established for Alexis Katan, age four, the granddaughter of Ed Chermak of Green Coin Machine distributing. The fund is in honor of Alexis' brother, Preston Michael, age two-and-a-half, who died on Feb. 16 in Montgomery, Ala. According to a report by the Associated Press, the death has been ruled a homicide, and the child's father has been arrested in the case. Anyone who wishes to contribute to the fund may send checks made payable to the Alexis Katan Benefit Fund, to Ed Chermak at Green Coin Machine Distributing, 2961 Drywall Dr., Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.

Fannie Farkle's to celebrate 30th anniversary

Fannie Farkle's Family Entertainment Center (FEC) in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg, Tenn., is marking its 30th anniversary with a big celebration on April 13 at the facility, located at 656 Parkway in Gatlinburg. Marion Paul, Past AMOA President, is the Owner of Fannie Farkle's.

ARCADE OPERATOR JON DAUGHERTY PASSES AWAY

Jon Daugherty, well-known arcade maven from his days back with the United Artists Theatre Amusements and more recently with Electronic Experience and NickelWorld, passed away on Feb. 12 at his home in Rancho Mirage, Calif. (near Palm Springs). He is survived by his daughter Denise and her family, who mourn his loss along with countless trade people who remember Gentleman Jon.

SATINDER BHUTANI IS NEW ANDAMIRO PRESIDENT

ANDERSON EXITS BMI GAMING

Industry veteran Ken Anderson has left his position at BMI Gaming, the online marketplace for coin-op equipment. Anderson had been heading up the FEC division, which was working with fun centers to supply them with both the right equipment as well as sound advice for establishing and growing their business.
