sanantonio.jpgThe Hyatt Regency San Antonio on the Riverwalk will be the site of the February 18-20, 2010 AMOA Council of Affiliated States Meeting.

This annual gathering, which is highlighted by the ongoing information exchange between delegates of state industry trade groups from around the country, focuses on leading issues affecting the trade.

Typically, more than 40 persons, representing more than 20 state associations, participate in the Council meeting. Earlier this year, during the gathering in Phoenix, 46 delegates from 23 states were in attendance.

More details on the program, along with registration and housing materials, will be distributed soon, but please mark your calendar for the 2010 AMOA State Council meeting: February 18-20, 2010 on the Riverwalk in San Antonio.

For more information, please contact Lori Schneider at AMOA (800) 937-2662.

sonny.jpgDid you know that 2009 marks the 120th anniversary of the jukebox? AMOA will be helping celebrate the milestone throughout the year. One of the ways we will call attention to this achievement is during this year's Expo.

At the annual Opening Gala Reception on the Pool deck of the Las Vegas Hilton on Thursday, September 24, AMOA will sponsor a performance by Sonny Turner, former lead singer of the Platters.

Sonny joined the group at age 19 and helped bring the Platters back on the pop charts during the 1960s with such hits as "I Love You 1,000 Times;" "With This Ring;" and "Washed Ashore." As well, he re-recorded the group's classics such as "Only You;" "The Great Pretender;" and "The Magic Touch."

Taking a trip down memory lane and being part of the 120th anniversary of the jukebox celebration...just one more reason to be part of the September 24-26, 2009 AMOA International Expo in Las Vegas.

AMOA Member WebsiteIn the last couple of months, we have made note of a brand new, deeply-discounted, exclusive service for AMOA members: a website for your company.

It's easy. It's inexpensive and best of all, it gives you a chance to promote, market and sell your company's range of services to the world.

The accompanying illustration is a screenshot from an AMOA member, Preferred Amusements, Inc., Baton Rouge, LA, who had his company's website created using the association's service.

The association's website program is being directed by AMOA Past President Jim Pietrangelo, owner of WebCampOne, LLC, a website management and design firm based in Winchester, VA.

The development cost? A mere $50, and a $100 renewal/maintenance fee applied on the first anniversary of your site "going live."
