ICOLUMBIA, SC — Games that vend tokens or tickets remain technically illegal in South Carolina, following the State Legislature's rejection of a bill designed to legalize them. According to Rep. Todd Rutherford (D-Columbia), existing anti-gambling statutes are overly broad: they ban all games that reward anything of "value" to players. Technically, that includes redemption games.
