LOS ANGELES — Steven Spielberg teamed up with Electronic Arts to create a videogame for the Nintendo Wii console, according to USA Today. Called Boom Box, the game hit store shelves on May 5.

The Oscar-winning film director and producer described himself and his family as enthusiastic game players, and said he wanted to create a game that entire families could enjoy together. Speaking of the industry's current fare, Speilberg told the newspaper: "...some games are so over-the-top violent and so extraordinarily interactive that I am even afraid of them. I am not going to name names."

In a related story, CNN program host and radio talk show commentator Glenn Beck recently blasted the new home videogame Grand Theft Auto IV, telling TV viewers: "We're training our kids to be killers. And we are training our sons to treat women like whores." Beck's remarks were quoted on PC World magazine's website.
